Our History

Galsana began as a specialist Medical Nutrition team within the wider Galen group of companies

Galen was established in 1968 and is headquartered in Craigavon, Northern Ireland. From the start, the company has worked alongside healthcare professionals and patients to advance human health across multiple therapy areas, geographies and markets.

Through the acquisition of POA Pharma Scandinavia AB in 2017, Galen’s medical nutrition division was born. Over time, the team embraced market-leading technologies and expanded their specialist knowledge and portfolio to become specialists in metabolic products and services.

In 2026, Galsana launched as a standalone brand with its own identity and purpose. Our role is clear: to bring fast-moving innovations to patients with metabolic conditions, their carers and families, and to support fuller lives.

Today, Galsana actively pursues new global opportunities, from portfolio enhancement and commercial partnerships to scientific and technological breakthroughs. Everything we do is driven by a patient first innovation approach, so we can deliver meaningful impact for patients worldwide.
